I had a tattoo on Saturday and the tattooist went a little OTT on it . Where I had "in" on my wrist, it now looks like an 'm'.
A friend has told me to keep picking at the scarred area to maybe transform it back into 'in' but has anyone else got a sure proof method that I can use?

Maybe if you pull it off to the point it bled it would fade but that would scar and I don't recommend it. The only time a part of one of my tattoos has faded was because it got infected as it was healing. It was on my ankle on it kept sticking to my socks. Still can't see much of a difference though unless you know what you're looking at. If it really bothers you in the future you may want to think about a cover up.
Wait for it to heal. Really, it's best not to pick at it. Sometimes it can be a shock when you see your completed tattoo at first. But even if the tattooist was a bit butter-fingered and got the letters looking wrong, you still need it to heal so you can get the finished result when the ink's settled in, before you can decide what you could add or change if need be.
Hope it all works out.

I rang the tattooist this morning and he basically said "tough ****, it's what you came in with" which I didn't.
He has a copy of it which he says shows the letters connect but I have the original and I know they don't.
But otherwise his advice was to let it heal as there is nothing I can do.
I've learnt from my mistake --- Don't get a tattoo in Cardiff.. PERIOD!

They sound really bad. I think most people who get a tattoo aren't happy with parts of it and there isn't much that can be done. I hav a tiny blck mark where there souldn't be on one of mine, but you have to really look. I also have innitials tattooed on my hip along with a rose (NEVER DO THAT - EVER)!! I got them covered up by adding a couple more leaves to the rose but you can still sort of make them out underneath it.
I have to say my last tatooist did the same thing the word was meant to be "I've" and it cam out "I be" I went back in person instead of ringing and he picked a bit of the ink out with a machine that they have. However, he was a bit arsey so if I had rung and not gone in person I think I would have been told the same as you were.
I would just march yourself in and tell him to do something with it asap or your going to report him.

I'm sorta taking your advice claireyfairy.
I'm going to go to my local tattooist, who done a good job on my first tattoo, and ask them about this unpicking device (which apparently blasts bleach into the dermis) and see if they can solve my problem.
Otherwise I'll just have to put up with a crap tattoo for a while before I get it lasered.
