it was a book listing every number one record since the chart begun Carla, with brief history of each record- and its a great reference book, the ring was a better prezzy though ;-)

16th May 2001, I had taken her for a romantic midweek break to Dortmund { Liverpool v Alaves UEFA Cup Final :o) } and at full time with the score at 4-4 i said " If we win this i will ask you to marry me "
Thinking about it i am sure during extra time she was shouting for Alaves to win!
Anyway we won, i asked and she said yes. :o)

I was laying in the bath one day, boyfriend came into the bathroom, fully dressed in a suit, he then got down on one knee in my bath and asked me to marry him, i said yes and then told him to get out of my bl***y bath!

19 years later we're still together!

My husband and I had talked about getting married right from the beginning in our relationship. It became a bit of a joke as I was always pestering him about asking me and sometimes I'd even ask him but he always turned me down, saying he was going to be the one to ask me.
The weekend before I started a new job, we went out for a meal and I jokingly started going on about it. Imagine my surprise when he pulled a ring out of his pocket and proposed! I burst into tears! Earlier in the day, he had gone fishing with my dad and asked for my hand in marriage! He'd given the ring to his mum to look after and invited both my parents round to his parent's house (where we were living) to celebrate when we got back from the restaurant! Two years on and we're expecting our first baby.

The CO got all the Officers and Senior NCO's together in Jan 2003 and told us to cancel any plans we had for the rest of the year as there was a good chance we would be going to Kuwait/Iraq later in the year. I thought that this time I might not get back to dear old blighty in one piece, ( after numerous operational tours I felt that my luck was running out). I went home and told the future Mrs johnlambert to get her finger out and book a register office. Exactly 2 weeks later we were married.
