We all get those dodgy American Spam mails, trying to sell us Viagra or similar. But can we actually buy them, surely you need a Doctors prescription etc. And are they actually Viagra?

One of the problems with the Internet is that it crosses international boundaries, so no single country's legislation applies to it. This means that some practices which are illegal in the UK are legal abroad, and Internet sites based in those countries can advertise and sell to whoever they like. As to whether they are the genuine article - well, that's the risk you take. At least prescription drugs are the real thing.
One thing that annoys and exasperates me these days is the number of increased spams on viagra, penis enlargements, breast implants, and letters from Mr JumpingJehosophat of Botwsana or somewhere equally bizarre, who has 30 squillion dollars he needs to launder out of the country. In all cases it is a complete load of pish and you are advised to keep your hard earned in your bank and ignore the emails. (Replying them will only serve to have your email address validated as a useable spam address and subject you to even further spam bombardment)
ps. if you want viagra, go to a doctor
