Why do men lie soooooo much?

Ok... Months ago me and my friend who I will call E, met this guy who I will call R. We started hanging about with R and his mates and would meet them in town on nights out and they would pop round for drinks and stuff! Then R got with E and appeared to like her but kept telling me behind her back that he liked me too! I left it and told him nothing could happen even though I did really like him.. but he carried on. Then one night he pulled me to one side in the club and we chatted for ages and he told me he really liked me and wanted to take me to London the next day and spend the day with me... I told him I didn't know what to do.. but then when I was alone with E.. I told her everything he had just told me and she said he had just said EXACTLY the same to her so we called him over and confronted him. We ended up having a huge row with him and he followed us about all night and was being a pr!ck! I threw a drink in his face (never done that before in my life!) He ended up having a fight with some of our male mates and the whole night was an eye opening disaster! That was the last we heard of him!

Last night me and E went out and saw him in the club (we hadn't seen him in 2-3 months). We decided to not let it ruin the night and we said hello to him and chatted and he bought us drinks and stuff.... then... it all started again.. and he was pulling E to the side and telling her he loved her and then pulling me to the side and telling me we had a connection and he had been thinking of me for ages! We didn't really click this was going on as we were drunk and stuff... then we got a taxi home and he wanted to walk so we left him to it!
When I was home (I was dropped off in cab before E) I got a text from R asking me to ring him.. so I did and he said he was outside my house! I went out and met him and was there for 1hr and a half... he was telling me he liked me and we ended up kissing for ages! I wasn't buying what he was saying about wanting to be with me but I believed he liked me! In the end I came in and went to bed and got a text from him saying he had always wanted to kiss me.. even though originally he was with E... I don't lie to E so I text her and told her everything before I went to bed and she text back this morning saying she was getting texts from him saying he loved her and he told her I wasn't his type but he said the same to me about her!!!!!!! Its only this morning that I have realised what a d!ck I have been!!!! This guy needs help! He is 39 (I am 22 and E is 26), he is in the army!

Thanks Bluevern... I know I know the answers to this but I did.. do... like him... he just has something about him otherwise we wouldn't be falling for all this cr@p.. and hoping he is being truthful! But I do think he is a nutter! He was telling me last night that he got sectioned once for 4months... coz he is in the army and all that and he has killed people! I mean thats bound to f*ck you up... Look at Wardy... haha.. sorry Wardy... just kidding! :o)

I wish the plague was that easy to avoid! Shame he don't get sent to Iraq!!! Plus he is quite racist as well.. I noticed it when I was chatting to him last night! I'm not racist at all and it did p!ss me off and I kept having a go at him for it but how can you stop a 39yr old army boy from being racist? God...... what am I thinking!
