I had the merena coil in for just over 2 months. In that time side effects included lots of spots, bleeding everyday but also more concerning is hair loss. It has been a week since removal but my hair is still falling out, am getting really worried. How long will this last for? does anyone know? It is too much of a coincidence to be linked something else. Has anyone else had this problem? feeling desperate help.

Why only 2 months? it takes some people a lot longer for it to work properly. Did your doctor suggest removal or did you ask for removal?Ive had one in for a long time now- not noticed more than usual hair loss, have you been to your docs to ask questions? i would go to see him/her if i was you. good luck
if you google mirena you will come across a lot of websites of women that have posted for and against the mirena . I had mine removed after 2 years and it was a matter of months before my body got back to normal.
maza I can't remember if mine was called this but I had the copper coil variety fitted a few years back and had terrible trouble with heavy bleeding.
I switched to the coil with hormones in, can't remember its name but it's quite new. ~Absolutely flipping fantastic - I don't get any periods whatsoever and no side effects at all. Result!!!!

Hi PatriciaH, the reason it was taken out after only 2 months was because of my side effects in particular the hair loss. I went to hair dressers today as I have had to change my style so as my hair will look thicker. It has been a week since removal and my skin is already looking better. So it's not my imagination.
Hiya Maza, ive got really fine hair and have not noticed any difference- saying that we are all different i suppose. Hope you feel better now x
