i don't know what to buy my mum for her 50th birthday, I want to get her something special and looking to spend up to about 70 pounds.
I was thinking jewellery would be the best thing, but i'd like it engraved.
has anyone got any ideas of a nice necklace or bracelet preferably in silver or white gold?
or else any other ideas than jewellry?

How about a locket necklace that she can put a family picture in?
A nice watch, you could get engraved?
Is she an 'old' 50 or a 'young' 50? If she's a young 50 what about a really nice trendy handbag or a designer purse/wallet something she can use every day. Often a more luxury every day item makes a really nice gift rather than a 'wow' piece of jewellery that only gets worn occasionally.

Got my mother a cigarette case engraved for her 60. birthday.
She was using that until she stopped smoking two years ago (at 68).
How about a Mother's ring with the birthstone of her child or children in it.
