Well, most of these people I met as a child. My father having been a much loved singer and actor, he had great friends in the business and some came to our house. I have still a wonderful guestbook which many of them signed, so here are a small selection I met as a child: Judy Garland and her husband Sid Luft, Satchmo (Louis Armstrong), Tony Bennet, Tom Jones, President John F Kennedy, Pierre Salinger (President Kennedys right hand man), Gen. Paul W Tibbets (who piloted the Enola Gay and dropped the first H-bomb on Hiroshima), The Andrews Sisters, Bubbles (wonderful friend & legendary American Black tap dancer who taught Fred Astair & others). In my teens I met Andres Segovia (the father of modern guitar). I still have my first guitar, which he autographed for me in 1967; Peter OTool, Peter Sellers, Robert Morley, Richard Harris, Scott Walker of the Walker Brothers (I was his translator) and in later years I met: Yehudi Menuhin, Peter Ustinov, Patricia Routledge, Sir Harry Secombe, Cliff Richards, Dr. Sheila Cassidy (author), Richard Branson (on phone only), Yngwie Malmsteen, Jethro Tull, John Bon Jovi, Aerosmith and many other international top musicians/singers; Fiona Bruce (she is special as she and I worked on a Panorama film about my son). I see the actor Joss Ackland regularly; recently saw Fern Britton and hubby Phil, spent a few hours in the company of Nicky Clark. Gareth Fitzgerald (former Irish Taoiseach). But one of the loveliest people ever is Frank Kelly (Father Jack). Hes family. There are too many to mention, but as my Dad used to say- they are all no more special than all of us here. Well except for some fo the politicians have worked for as translator ... no names mentioned, but not nice, not special at all! :o)
