1. Walking across the playground to collect my blonde children (so proud!) a Dad approached me (ran up to me) and the dialogue went "excuse me but is that your natural colour?" "yes" "Did you get bullied at school" "I got teased, but it makes you a stronger person, you get sick of it" "my daughter doesn't want to come to school anymore, cos all her friends are picking on her and saying you can't play if you've got ginger hair, and the boys are all making jokes." "she hates herself and she's angry with us for giving her ginger hair".
2. In the park, 2 grandparents came up to me with about a 6 year old girl with a hat on. Dialogue: "excuse me, but have you always had hair like that?" "Yes" taking the hat off their beautiful grandaughter they said "See Amy, you'll end up looking like that lady, she's alright isn't she?" This lovely kid nodded her head, while these grandparents went on to explain that they didn't understand where on earth the ginger had come from as her mam and dad both had dark hair. I said ginger's great you'll be brilliant to the little girl, Just at that the mam and dad turned up with younger dark haired brother, and the grandparents said "right bye, Amy, put your hat back on"
