When reversing in your car....

Is it just me or do other people turn down the car radio or stereo when reversing? It is something that I've only just realised that I do, and that's after 25 years of driving!!

I don�t do it when reversing, but when I am trying to concentrate round places I don�t know or getting out of really tight parking spaces I turn it down.

I switch the stereo off when reversing into my garage. It's very narrow and I need all my concentration.

I also switch it off when I'm somewhere new and trying desperately to avoid getting lost.

Yeah I do it. I also have to fight the urge to undo my seatbelt.

But who ever does the 10 to 2 hand thing now on the steering wheel, as soon as you pass that goes out the window

Exactly, 4get...and since the introduction of airbags they now recommend a 20 to 4 position!

I do it too, and I do it when driving up to a car park ticket dispencer, just before the barrier goes up to let me in!

If you are a woman, i can totally understand turning down your stereo. Any loud noise distracts the female as she is trying to concentrate, as she can only concentrate on one thing at a time.
(Its been scientifically proven, beforeyou start with the anti comments )

Women have always been famously good at multi-tasking. Asking most blokes to wash up whilst looking after the kids and scratching his knackers is pointless ;o)

I crashed my car turning the radio up before. I was on my way to work when I heard that John Peel had died. I wanted to make sure I had heard correctly then bang. At least I know exactly what I was doing when I first heard he was dead.

Me too, I also turn it down when I'm trying to pull out of a junction onto a busy road, I can't concenrate otherwise :-)
