criminal minds (a bit of a puzzle)

A man goes to his mothers funeral, and meets the most wonderful girl he has ever set eyes on. He doesnt go over and speak to her due to the nature of the occasion but he is curious as to who she is.
A few months later, his sister dies unexpectedly.
Who was her murderer?

The unknown girl or why mention her

Well..... chazza you are correct! But that isnt a good thing! This puzzle was given to serial murderers who all answered as chazza has done. Most people guess else where such as suggesting the unknown girl because their minds work in a normal way, not like those of murderers.

But the girl may not have known his sister - she may have only known his mother - therefore the girl may not have been at the next funeral..............or am i missing something ??

But wouldn't the guy still be unable to speak to the unkown girl because of the nature of the occasion?

The idea is that the murderer thought there was a chance he would see her again if there was another family funeral and so took it.

You missed an important detail - the unknown girl was wearing a black jacket with a white carnation in the lapel, it's indecipherable if that's not mentioned.

are you sure? I have only ever heard it without. A friend of mine who studies psycology sent it to me. I cant imagine it doesnt work the same without that detail?

And you also said the man meets the most wonderful girl.....but he doesn't speak to her. So how do you class that as meeting someone. That bit confused me!

Again..why would he pluck up the courage to 'meet' the unknown girl at another funeral, when he didn't do it the first time?

Or maybe this is suggesting that serial killers just don't think things through properly ;o)

Most people say it was the girl's father, because the narrative is from the standpoint of the man, and if he murdered her then it cannot have been unexpected. So it was the father.

I answered question like this when I came out the Army, and got the same answer as chazza.
Its the question they ask prisoners on death row in the USA, the always answer the same.
