This has happened to me before, but not for a while. First I get really bad deja vu, about everything thats going on, then my short term memory is really bad, especially with what date it is, and i'm usually a bit confused for the rest of the day. But i'm ok by the next day.

I know this sounds weird but is it something I should be going to the doctor about?

i would say best go and get checked out with your doctor. my friends brother has just for the past couple of years suffered from epilepsy and he describes the aura he gets before he has one of his infrequent fits as feeling like deja vu.not saying that you have epilepsy by any means but it does sound like something funny is happening and would be best to get it checked out in case it's the early signs of something. have you been having this long?

I'd say its happened a couple of times before, in the last 3 years or so, so I don't get it often, but when I do it really weirds me out, its kinda like trying to remember a dream that I can't quite remember.

I've never had any kind of fit though, just a weird feeling for the rest of the day.

Also it can be quite frustrating as I usually have quite a good memory, and a simple thing like not even recognising what date it is is quite scary.
yeah it does sound weird.glad to hear it's not a regular thing.do you have a headache when you experience this?just wondering if it's maybe a migraine your having.they can make you feel really strange.

No didn't have a headache - that I can remember anyway! I do get migraines though, and Ive read u can get migraines without the headache. Sometimes with visual disturbances too with migraines, like blind spots but only seem to get them in one eye. One time nearly my whole vision was covered in one eye apart from a hole in the centre of my vision - could these be connected do you think?
sorry had to go to bed. yeah i think it's possible.it's just the way you have it just that day and then it passes a bit like migraines can be.i've had migraines myself and it makes you feel awful and it's not pain so much as the way it makes you feel bit detached from everything.can't handle noise, you can't think straight or concentrate.are you going to get it checked out?
Question Author
No worries - I went straight to bed after posting that reply anyway :-)

Thanks for your comments, but I think i'll only go to the docs if it happens more often, or my migraines get worse.
