Does anybody out there know anything about IVF? Any good websites on what your rights are on the NHS? If two people get together and the man already has a child (with someone else) does this effect your possibility of getting treatment? I have heard it does. Thanks in advance!

I have gone through IVF myself but I paid privately. The rules do tend to vary depending wher you live, your age,etc if you want treatment on the NHS.
If you need any more info I will try and help.x

Thanks! I live down South - I was really looking for a website. Just want to know the rules / cost if go private. Not sure where to go for it.
Your best bet would probably be to ring your local health authority as they would know their rules on age etc.As for going private, simply google private hospitals and your county and you will get some names.

It is quite a major thing to do,I was lucky as it worked 1st time but was still pretty costly.
Different areas different rules but you may find its only if you have no children between you. You will need to see your GP for referral and support so your best bet maybe for both of you to attend - they will also be able to tell you what the rules are and sort out any investigations needed before you get to IVF.
Could try Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority

Will give you a list of licenced clinics how to choose about infertility and funding
