Ideas/Advice regarding self-employment please... :O)
2 Answers
Hello Everyone :O)
After several painful years in various office jobs I am becoming more and more certain that self-employment is a more appropriate route to take!
My family and boyfriend are all successfully self-employed, so I understand the kind of commitment that this will take!
The trouble is finding that good idea, knowing where to look, and trusting myself enough to take the leap!
I have a 2:1 International FinanceDegree, and am capable of doing most things, including an interest in physical and outdoor work, and I am not afraid of hard work.
My only limitation at the moment is an injury which means that I cannot do any lifting until I have an operation which I am waiting for on the NHS.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or been in a similar position? Or are you aware of any good books or websites that may help?
I really would look at doing anything! Self-employment is the main criteria!
Thank you very much for reading this far! :O)
I hope someone has the answers.... ;O)

You can find opportunities in newspapers (always research really well before parting with ANY money) or Google. But this is the hard work option.
In my experience people often get self-employed mixed up with freelance. If what you want is to be your own boss, control when you work and when you dont, you mean freelance. But to be freelance you really have to have a skill/profession in the first place. Given that most people dont appear to be able to understand basic personal finance, how about using your financial knowledge to educate others? Adult education? Get a teaching certificate and offer a package to schools?
Just some ideas to get you started. Hope they help.
