No matter how many hours of sleep i've had the night before, I literally cannot keep my eyes open from around this time everyday at work until i get home and when i do get home, i'm noody blinks. Can anyone give me some tips to stay awake, I'm on a coffee and berroca overdose at the mo but it's had as much effect as a camomille tea ! btw, i quite like my job and it's busy so it's not a boredom thing and i eat varied lunches, Jacket potato, salads, soup etc ???? My boss just caught me dozing off again and is not happy. zzzzzzz

There could be a medical explanation for your drowsiness sogo to your GP and have blood tests for anemia (sp?) and diabetes.
An overdose of caffeine can cause you to feel groggy and irritable so maybe cut back for a while.
Also try a little exercise, this may sound counter-product but the adrenaline and endorphines should give you a boost and also ensure a better sleep.
Your psychological state can also affect your tiredness. Excessive stress can cause the body to "shut down" and is sometimes a warning that you could be heading for depression.
I know all this cos I've been exactly the same. My problem was psychological but I have it under control now cos I know the warning signs.

Your breakfast needs to slow-releasing energy foods, like muesli or other cereals, with fresh fruit. Then lunch should be a re-fuel, so opt for a combination of quick energy and slow release foods. Avoid any food that is difficult or slow to digest as this makes you feel lethargic.
Take a lunch break and get away from your work area, even if it's for 30 mins. Then take a 15 minute break, or two shorter ones in the afternoon. Pop over and see a work colleague for a chat or just pop to the loo, using the furthest toilet in the building! Anything to refresh your brain, eyes and body.
Finally, if you're drinking tea or coffee during the day, limit yourself to 3 cups (not mugs) per day. 2 preferably. And try to space this out to one in the morning and one in the afternoon. In between, drink plenty of water and herbal/fruit/green teas.
Try this for 2 weeks and I guarantee you won't have that problem anymore.

Hmmm, i take it there are no windows what you can look out of. Are you getting enough sleep at night, every night? My personal opininon would be that you know its nearly home time and that you 'switch off'. Try not to look at the clock or go for a walk round as soon as you feel as though you are getting sleepy.
