I'm not sure about that one ,normally means my kids just got up before me..especially if its a burning smell!!!

Not necessarily in the morning - the smell of burning toast or burning plastic can be a symptom of stroke in some people.

I don't know if this is relevant but I get odd smells and also some sensations of touch which isn't there sometimes and I have some neurological damage.

redcrx, theres another old wives tale that if you smell buning matches that the devil is nearby. so keep your eyes peeled for a suspicious looking red fella. : )
