Roof Plans for loft conversion
3 Answers
I want to remove some supports and replace then with ones that will clear the middle of the loft to create a work space.
Are there any web sites that show drawings of how to support the roof again.
Our house was built in 1953 so is not a modern truss roof design

However you can't do this yourself and you certainly shouldn't ask a builder! You need to talk to a Structural Engineer who will inspect the existing structure and calculate the forces created by the roof loading. These intermediate timbers are there for a purpose. Depending on what you are doing, you may need to make a Building Control application - your Structural Engineer will advise.
