Help me and my gigantic belly.
4 Answers
I am 43 and weigh 18 stone (previously 22 stone). I suffer from polycystic ovaries so most of my bulk is around the middle. My belly is HUGE. It lurks there, wobbling like a giant jelly.
I will keep trying to lose weight and do tummy exercises - all the usual stuff.
But my late mother told me years ago that those tight corset type knickers hold your belly in and train the muscles, or help train them. Is this true? There is no way that I am going to kill myself by wearing something that could cut off my circulation if there is going to be no gain.
Come to think of it, I could encase myself in tight elastic from boob to knees - but where would all the blubber actually go?

I have tried every corset in the land. It comes out under your arms. I was sitting laughing thinking about this.... years ago if I got a new corselette(always two sizes small mind)my dad would stand at the back and my husband at the front.I would launch myself off the bed into it and they would both pull like fury. It was like pushing a sausage into a skin.
Think about it! It holds your belly in so you don'y have to, therefore no effort on your part = no muscle development.
Do not be obsessed with the tummy area, you cannot spot reduce, your body takes the fat from where it feels like it and that's rarely where you want it to take it from.
Simple physics applies, force your body to use energy from the stores, you have to get "Overdrawn" in the energy department on a regular basis.

are you doing sit ups? you must make sure you are breathing correctly. with your pelvis tilted up so your back is flat to the floor you should breathe out as you lift and in as you lower. an easy way to remember is EXhale as you EXert. if you dont, the muscles firm up in the sticking out position and this is even harder to get rid of.
