This is a sure-fire way for your body to think it is being starved, and go into starvation mode. That means it will grab and save any calories you eat and store them as fat. Your metabolism will slow right down in order to save energy and "keep" the food. THEN when you go back to eating normally (which you will), the weight will pile on, and more, because you have mucked about with your metabolism.
Sorry to be depressing- I am living proof of this- you end up heavier than before and it becomes harder to lose weight.
You would be better off giving your body some energy by eating oats rather than bran flakes, have some carbs at lunchtime (oatcakes or wholemeal bread)- you could have a mackerel and salad sandwich made with a small loaf, so less cals, and protein and veg for dinner- chicken breast or fish, with lots of veg and maybe sweet potatoes.
Nearly all dieters regain their weight within the year. You can lose weight and keep it off for good by making small changes to your diet that you can realistically live with forever, not a starvation for 3 weeks that leaves you hungry and depressed!

Oooh thank you for that, really good points and hadn't noticed the no carbs thing!
Will make sure there are some in there tomorrow for sure!
I was starving earlier so have had some Baxters chicken broth for supper but still hungry and that's probably why!
Bit late to eat something now but will sneak cheeky hobnob before i go to bed and make sure i have some healthy carbs tomorrow.
I want to eat healthily long term above and beyond the 4 week charity thing.
Thank you for the advice, much appreciated! xxx

Hi Jenna1978, you mentioned that you are feeling down in another post. I know that cutting out carbs can really make someone feel low. You should base your meals on starchy foods such as bread, cereals, rice, pasta and potatoes. I know you're trying to lose weight but you still can lose weight and try to choose wholegrain varieties of starchy foods whenever you can. Good luck! xx
