have recently upgraded my account to a student one from a current account, although im a second year student didnt realise before now i'd be entitle cos im a mature student. Anyway have sorted all the documentation out and the woman i dealt with said i'd have my increased overdraft available on wed. Why does it take so long?

the authorisation has to come from their head office that deals with authorised overdrafts.Paperwork has to be passed to them because you are changing to a student account.Come third year and your overdraft will increase by a couple of hundred, you can call up and they will be able to authorise it then and there so it goes on overnight.

thank you, just a bit worried that bank will change its decision! my current account overdraft was a measly �100 and its gonna go up to �1450! seems too good to be true, though the woman at bank said i'd definitely be able to draw on it this wednesday.

got it through!!! came through this morning 24hrs earlier than i was initially told, hope this is of some comfort to ppl waiting xx
