Thanks alot,the belt had snaped and got stuck in the drum.He went to town today and got a new belt for �8 and fitted it himself and now its working fine.It has saved my grandad alot of money rather than getting somone to come out and have a look.
I know this isnt the right section for this but i know that you are mostly here.

I have always fixed my own washing machine,I am a dab hand at replacing the door seals and the brushes.
