Swelling of the sphincter ?
7 Answers
I thought I had piles but...
For about 3 or 4 weeks I've noticed two hard lumps (one each side), that seem relatively large, 'appear' after going to the toilet. This is usually but not always accompanied by small amount sof blood on toilet paper and discomfort for a couple of hours after. The two lumps, which seem to be my sphincter or in/on or very near it seem to then disappear until next time I go to the toilet.
I've read up on piles and while the symptoms seem similar, the description of 'grape' like swelling is nothing like these two hard lumps..
Although I'll seek proper advice, I was wondering if its possible to get an inflammed sphincter, or injure it in some way etc to cause this problem.
I should point out that during the normal course of the day I don't feel any pain down there.. its just discomfort, not even pain, after going to the loo..
thanks
