Not wishing to be rude but wouldn't you have thought that if he wanted to see his child he'd have contacted you? I'm presuming you haven't moved away from where you lived when he was around?

havinmysay is he still in the area , did you not have common friends together, do you have any ideas as to where he could be?or if all else fails give us his name and see if any of us know him lol
