i know what you mean
people always ask what are doing for new years eve?
if i want to go out and drink one to many sweet sherries, i like to do it when i fancy it, i find inpromptu nights out are always better, it seems that you are forced to enjoy yourself on news year eve
Carla, I absolutely hate it! I've never enjoyed it and while I went out and celebrated while I was a student, I've never done it since. I hate everything about it and it's so overrated! I stay in now, usually with my husband and my parents, and have a few drinks and play cards. The we usually see in the new year then go to bed! If I had my way I'd be tucked up in bed by then. I'm pregnant at the moment so may not be able to stay awake til midnight this year!
I used to enjoy it when I was single but now that I am married with kids , I find it such a bore. The last thing I want at midnight is my drunken neighbours crashing into my house to start a party so I bring in the bells with my hubby then we put out the lights and go into hiding ! I usually have a New years night party with my family and friends but Hogmanay is a no no because i'm in no mood to start partying at midnight. I much prefer Christmas. I used to work in a nightclub behind the bar and I hated drunken punters trying to slobber all over you because it is 'tradition' to have a New years kiss. Eww.
my dad was scots so was brought up to celebrate the new year more than christmas, but must admit nowadays me & hubby just phone or email family to wish them happy new year and then get quietly pi**ed on our own in the house then crawl up to bed !
i would rather take a rusty spanner and wedge it into my nasal passage whilst slicing my nipples with 2 year old razor blades than go out new years eve, akin to eating the custard you made earlier
