Now that's a true mate!

Liquidspace. You must be really gutted and I guess the reality of this is that if somebody has an addiction that bad, they will not recover from it, and you will not regain any of your money. since they will be too deeply in debt. The only thing you can do is learn from one of life's really hard lessons, split with your boyfriend and move on. And never, ever loan money to anybody again. If there's the slightest chance of recovering any of your money through legal means without incurring high legal costs in the process, go for it. But psycologically this may keep you living in the present when the only way forward is to make a clean break, both with him and the reality of losing your money.
Thanks Wendy,
There is no getting my money back thru legal channels unfortunately as he is bankrupt, and he would say he didnt make me do it, he threatened me with that last night. He also told me that if I didnt go and get a loan for between 500-1k to cover xmas then there was no point me staying in the place we are over xmas, I should go elsewhere as I wasnt welcome! He said I wasnt "pulling together" with him and he thought I was in it for the long haul, etc etc.
