Hello!

Could anyone tell me, please, is it just standard that you cannot drink alcohol with any antibiotics? Or is it okay with certain kinds?

Thank you, c~s :-)

i think it depends on which ones they are, it will say on the container or packet, i'm also sure that alcohol just makes them less effective if it says avoid alcohol

Thank you, curly! That's what I was wondering as it says nothing at all regarding alcohol in the leaflet. :-S

I can't find anything on the net about the affects it has on this brand (Cefalexin 500mg) either.
i could be wrong, but i'm sure if alcohol was not recomended it would say so,
it.s not a case that you cannot drink with all antibiotics--it is advised to avoid alcohol...think if you have a side effect if any it will be a minor upset stomach. the exception to this is the antibiotic drug metronidazole .mixed with alcohol it will make you very very sick.an anti alcohol medication for alcoholics is based on metronidazole.
that is the case, by law any drug that badly reacts with alcohol will have to state it on the pharmacy label.

Thank you, imajenarry! I was hoping that was what it was. I'm not really a massive drinker, I was just a bit disappointed as it's our party tomorrow night and I was hoping to have a glass or two of wine.

Thanks again.
