And why not? I believe that only Jesus Christ, can fulfill our most basic inner needs, and without Him, there will be that disappointment that you speak of.
True, for those surrounded by friends and family, regardless of their beliefs, Christmas can be as enjoyable as any other social gathering. But I think I understand your disappointment, for the reasons stated.

It's bound to be a let down, after all the build up!
But think of it that way: you've had a great time with people you love, and you can have the same again whenever you want, BECAUSE those people will still be there tomorrow!
Have a drink, be cheerful, and count your blessings! lol
Merry christmas from a very tipsy Max! :-P

The great thing about answerbank is that you can answer truthfully and not have to face the wrath of any particular kind. I suscribe to the views of Theland - Without celebrating the birth of Christ, Christmas would indeed be empty and meaningless.
However, I am pleased that those who choose not to or simply don't believe can have a satisfying and warm time with their families.
Christmas should be simple; get rid of the commercialism - make it about being with your nearest and dearest -it works - believe me!
