Angiogram ...how risky?

My doctor has suggested an angiogram ...not absolutely neccesary but he says it would lead to a better diagnosis and that he is not saying this lightly. How risky are they?

I had an angiogram without painkiller or sedative and it was quite okay. Turned out to prove only that treatment would not help, but I do not regret having it.
