Brown Blood Question

Hi all. I'm having what appears to be a period, but the blood is a dark brown colour, and I'm not due for another week. Any ideas? I've had some sharp pains but only for a short time this morning, and the brown stuff is congealed.

Could be an early period due to something like a hormonal imbalance, are you on the pill and if so have you missed any or could anything have affected it such as vomiting or a stomach bug?

Brown spotting can be an indication of early pregnancy, is that a possibility? If so then get it checked out asap if you're having pain as well.

Hi,
There are many factors that can affect periods.
Depending on age, normal cycle.etc
Was your last period lighter than normal and not as long? Brown loss is usually older blood and is often clotted. If you have any concerns though you should see your GP.

Sorry to be blunt but have you got the Mirena coil fitted?
As Jenna says it could be a hormonal inbalance. I get this ever since I have had the coil fitted and apparantly it can be (one of many) side effects of having the coil.
Get yourself off down to the Doc's and see what they say, just to put your mind at rest :o)

I know I should've but I didn't get round to going to the Doc's as it stopped that day anyway. My "real" period is due in a few days so I will see if that is "normal" and go from there.
