NHS - When will they do something?

There are some fantastic people working to keep us healthy and dedicated to our care, I've been treated brilliantly by some wonderful people over the last couple of days for my breast lump having secured me an urgent appointment (next week) at a specialist breast clinic less than 24 hours after I was seen.

When are they going to get some proper funding and such in tape and let these wonderful people do their job properly without being held back by lack of funding, staffing and stifling bureaucracy?

Huh! Last time i went to hospital i was in the casualty ward and a nurse came in and asked me to go to the toilet for a sample. I said that i felt too ill to walk and she turned round and said what you mean you cant go toilet, just get up and go now., in the rudest way ever.

As i shuffled accross the floor she swore after me and said i was an effin something. I was so mad i could have smacked her one.She continued to be totally horrible to me for my whole time there.

During inpatient admission last summer the nurses were so keen to keep to their targets that they badgered me to go home only 3 hours after my op, even though i was inpatient, not day patient, and in immense pain,that even the doc said was unusual. I had to have a cathether put in and for 2 days the nurses kept telling me over and over that they will try and send me home. In the end i was sent home, only to be re-admitted 2 days later with complications.
The only saving grace where these two lovely African nurses who looked after me, and showed great care, compassion and proffesionalism, and i will never forget them. I find British nurses a little target driven and sometimes quite uncaring-well, on my ward anyway.

good luck with your appointment though- and i know my bad experience is nothing compared to the fantastic service most doctors and nurses provide.

Well after all my health problems - which i dont like to publicise on here for all to read, my doc is useless! Uncaring, unprofessional and lost endless test results i have had done over the last year.......

my own little experience..in pain on monday, saw gp on thursday, scan following tuesday, following week, wednesday operated on, friday home. this was 4 years ago. ps was for testicular cancer. what more can I say?

Student nurses on �100 / week is a scandal. Nothing more than slave labour. If they got the minimum wage for hours put in, they would get more than double that amount!

Maybe when we all start to use our right to vote and get the present Government out of office! Although it's hard to have faith in any of 'em we have to vote someone else in. Trouble is they'll tell you anything till they've got your vote, then do as they bl**dy well do as they please!

virtually all nhs staff do a good jod especially with an aging population and loads of immigrants for which theres not enough staff.
hoever, the problem with the worlds largest employer is the input of politicians.
every time we get a new health secretary it seems they have to fiddle and change things which always results in lowering moral. i know a nurse and all she says is here we go again.
the nhs tried trusts but things are getting worse youve all seen/heard this..
i only wish i had the slightest inkling of what is needed but the disaster is those that should dont.
