Following from my post yesterday about being scared of the doctor. I saw him today and he was very nice. Although he said what did i hope to get from seeing him at one point - i just said i wanted to see if he could help with medication or anything else.
He said best thing given the depth of my low feeling was to go on medication with a small amount to start then put it up a little. I am to go back and see him in two weeks. I didnt get to say everything about the causes of my feeling but he seemed happy that i am getting counselling so maybe wants me to use the counsellor for that.
I have been through similar times and going to admit you need some help is the hardest bit, so well done. Next thing you need to do is not panic when you feel the same / worse for a while. The medicines take about 3-4 weeks to kick in for most people, so you need to keep taking them for this time. Good luck.
Oh good i am glad. Doctors love that line - what do you expect me to do/want me to do. They try and put the requirement back on you. You answered well and the medication will hopefully just bring you back up to the level that you were in November.
Well done for going - I know you were very nervous. I agree with badgerchops though - my doctor said that to me once and I said " You're the doctor - that's why I'm here!"
