What was number one in the charts the day you were born? Wondered if anyones names had been influenced by trends of that particular year.

Got to thinking about this earlier watching Top of the Pops 2.

bit of useless info spurslady Elkie Brooks used to come to our house as my dad was a lead guitarist back in those days and they used to session on.....
oops I just read the lyrics, I remember the song was used as a theme tune for a programme a while back and I like the catchy tune and chorus.
has to be Mairzy Doats, netibiza. Gotta make that a new slang word! next time newman comes on we defo call him a "MAIRZY DOATS"!! lol no disrespect newman (ahem)!

Elkie Brooks is a good singer my mum and dad (when they were still together) used to play her LP and went to see her at the local Music Hall, No more the fool etc.

Elkie brookes used to live round the corner from us in Prestwich (nrth M/cr) her parents owned a piano bar in Manchester called Bookbinders (the family surname)
