I always find that the make up gets 'caught' around my spot and enhances it even more. My spots can be quite 'scabby' so make up doesnt glide over it. I have used a liquid concealer and stick concealer and foundation, all get caught around the spot!

I tend to use a paper bag to cover mine! :)
I'm not sure mate.

It does my head in. I'm 19 and still get them.

I just use foundation, one day they appear, next it's fine. Absolutely does me head in lol.
Ash....you use foundation?

hi
yes i can tend to but only if their minging and cant go out with them!
im 21 and get them! my mum suffers adult acme looks like i do too, supposed to be on anti biotics but other medicines meani cant be
Don't worry Jake. Im 19 mate and i get them badly some times. Nothing to be ashamed of. Although it may get you down like it does me sometimes, it's natural i guess. Doesn't help as im on medication for the last 4 yrs. Think that causes it.

I use "Isotrex", morning and night, gel stuff that does clear your face up a bit, sure i still get them, but they used to be awful, now they're bearable.
To be honest, it's the person with the spots that think they look really bad. I have very rarely in my whole life ever really noticed peoples spots. I know you may think you have a volcano on your face but to most people they wouldn't even notice

as for covering them up....if they are scabby I wouldn't bother but if they are red I would just use a conceler stick.
As it happens i have 2 really huge red scabby spots right now!!, ive tried everything to cover them up and get rid of them, but so far nothing is working! - i guess picking them doesn't help either!. i think the best thing to do is to just leave them, dont cover them up at all, then they dry out and hopefully go quicker! (think im going to listen to my own advice!!).

But i agree with what ummmm1 says, its the the person with the spots that notices them more!

I totally sympathise :)
i still had the odd teenage spot until i was thirty, the best comment someone ever said to me was, but your not spotty, to be honest most people see past them, and dont notice them, but sufferers are most self conscious, a nice holiday in the sun is the best cure, but this cure only lasts a few weeks. you'll be proud of teenage spots when you thirty....honest

You could try using tinted moisturiser rather than foundation, which is better as it doesnt catch as much on the blemish but rather moisturises it a little so disguises it better. Concealer is possibly the worst thing you could use. Not that I'm any expert, but I just thought I'd suggest this as no one has mentioned it. I do, however, agree with the whole 'you notice more than anyone else' thing - everyone suffers once in a while, what you gonna do!?
I dont get too many spots now im 25 but every now and then I get a bad one if is big and puss like I will squeeze it to get the puss out till it bleeds a little. then will let it dry out and then put concealer on if it becomes scabby and i know the concealer wont go on well I will pick the spot and hope it trys smoother or I add moisturiser and try to get rid of the scabby dryness of it then dry it and add concealer. Over the years I have found the liquid concealer is the easest to use and looks the best as apposed to stick concealer. I put a little dot in the middle of the spot and then dab it with my finger to spread it a little over the surface of the spot and then leave it too mush rubbing movement just allows it to gather round the the scabby outside and enhance it even more. I dont wear any other make up so I dont know if this would be a problem with spots, I have never worn foundation etc because it would mean my skin could not breath properly and I thought it would make my spots worse.
when i have a spot like that i find its best just to go over it as usual with my foundation as though there was no spot at all, i find if i start focusing on the spot like adding stuff to it like concealer and stuff it just highlights it more! i use a powder all over my face as well and just hope for the best then! i heard using a crushed asprin with a tiny bit of water as a spot paste help to reduce spot inflamation and dry them out, tried it the other day and seemed to work!
Honey and lemon juice can also be combined with almond oil and milk powder to make a paste for curing Dark Skin.
