I agree it depends on the relationship to the person, so it's open to interpretation. I sometimes have a similar dream about my child who is just becoming more independent, so I regard it as telling me not to be too clingy and to rexpore my own interests and individuality eg a couple of nights ago I dreamt I was on a trip down the Thames to view architecture in the docks. It was beautiful, but all the time I knew I had to look after my child, so I was anxious, although I knew she was at home safely. Then all of a sudden there was an announcement that the boat would head north and go towards Norway without stopping. I managed to jump onto a weird deserted platform. Nearby was some kind of out of order rave, which panicked me, After a long journey I got back to Waterloo station (way to home) found out my kid was fine, then once I knew everything was ok, dreamt I went on more adventures (bizarrely, went for a staid tea party with a famous rock band!) The dream made me feel really reassured about my kid and I woke up feeling great. But sometimes I have similar dreams and don't feel so great...perhaps telling me that I should still keep wary and responsible.
