The house prices and cost of living are lower, the facilities are better (more to do, more places within easy reach of each other, more sporting and concert venues, bigger bands touring, better football clubs,) and the people are far more friendly. I've lived in Warrington, Durham, Ipswich and am now in Kent. I like it here because my gf is from around here, but this is the ar*e end of nowhere and it's boring. The nearest 'big' place for proper culture and entertainment is London and that's more than an hour away, whichever way you travel.
