Ours whole lives these days are 'buy now, pay later'.
Luxury items have become basic necessities ie. dishwashers, tumbledryers, cars etc
When we compare our lifestyles to only, say, 30 years ago we should be shocked at our dependency on 'labour saving devices'.
Add to this the media exposure of say footballers, and levelling of social classes (in the past people never expected to 'better' themselves). Everyone now feels entitled to their 5 mins of fame, hence the number of reality-shows.
The knock on effect has made us lazy and vain, we are all victims of our buoyant economy.
Instead of walking, we drive.
Our food is cheap, and we buy ready meals.
Exercise is too time consuming, so over the years we have seen various 'skams' regarding slimming tablets, exercise beds etc. Now they can suck our fat out, problem solved!
Personally I do think that liposuction will increase, but no, I dont think it should be as accepted as a solution. Any weight put on after the procedure just goes to another part of your body. It is only a quick fix, I fully expect in say 20 years time for the litigators to be busy suing what is left of the medical profession, when they realise the fat has attached itself to vital organs!
