How often do you get up during the night for a pee

I had to get up three times last night for a pee, is this normal, recently it has been getting more frequent!!
Do I need to exercise my bladder, my bladder has always been good to me!! it has always held up to a gallon + until recently, and would only need emptying once or twice a day.
I never used to ever have the need to get up during the night, am I over the hill at 49 should I be considering the knackers yard?

Although my fluids tend to be the the dehydrating type...

I have also cut back on my sugar intake, to help lose a few pounds, ok a couple of stone!! would that make any difference?

I have just checked the diabetes site and have kinda ruled out that, but will still get tested.

Maybe I should just cut back on the evening coffee's

aha....coffee does that to my Mum Ratter....Not decaff...only the full on drug version...

could be... coffee is a dehydratant(sp?)... e.g. for every pint you drink, you urinate a pint and a quarter of fluid...

But I have drank coffee like this for years, only about 3 mugs a night of strong black coffee.

Ok, so carakeel tells me that I actually dring about 5 or 6 coffees a night!! im not so sure though.

Does de-caf have the same affect?

You might have just become sensitive to it. My Mum use to drink loads of it. She started of peeing a lot then it started to give her palpitations.....If she drinks one cup she won't sleep all night now....

have u looked into the possibility of a bladder infection...very common and the symptoms seem to fit... do u have any fever/chills?
