Whats your favourite handbag / brand / logo ??
9 Answers
Hello, I am doing a project about bags. I wondered if you could answer some questions for me please:
1. What is your favourite hand bag, who is it made by, what does it look like and what shape is it? Why do you like it?
2. What aspects contribute to you buying a handbag, do tags and labels / logos make a difference or is it merely what the bag looks like?
3. What is your favourite brand (does not have to be a handbag) and why? What do you like about them?

2. My bags have to be stylish but still practical. A bag too deep is hard to find anything in. A tiny bag is a nightmare. It shouldn't have too many frills.
3. Christian Dior. Everything I see by this designer is classy and unique. It looks expensive and good quality.

1. My favourite bags are vintage bags
2. I buy what I like the look of and the more unique the better
3. Topshop is my favourite brand as they are always up to date with the current fashions, sell all your wardrobe staples and prices are pretty reasonable
That might not be of any use to you if you are doing a project on "labels"

1. my favourite handbag is Mulberry Phoebe. it looks like this http://www.thebaglady.tv/2005/10/mulberry_phoe be.html. i just wish i could afford one! i like it cause its leather so its going to last for ages, and not go out of fashion, i like the colour cause it will go with everything.
2. i dont like bags that have blatant logos, i think thats a bit naff. i love leather bags, the more battered and beaten up the better. its got to be big enough to get all my stuff in so none of those pockey little clutch bags. and it needs to go with everything i own, so bright colours and frilly bits are a no no.
3. my favourite brand of bag is probably mulberry again, understated, classic and would last you a life time. my favourite clothing brand is probably h&m, for exactly the opposite reason, its cheap cheerful and you can change stuff all the time and it doesnt cost a fortune.

1. My fav bag that I own is a candy stripe clutch bag from GAP that I got in LA - dead cheap and it's broken now but I refuse to throw it away. It's not very practical, as in it's too small, but it's just so cute.
2. I like big bags but no so big that you can't find anything, but I do love to be able to just throw anything in there. I like fairly unusal bags but not wacky. Not really bothered about logos/labels.
3. I love bags from Aldo and River Island do great bags - these shops just seem to have a wide range of different bags to choose from.

I have 6 radley bags, i have a black canvas laptop one with pink trim, I like it cos it has a bright red satin lining, it was 80.
I have a pink large briefcase style Radley handbag with a pale and dark pink pattern like waves on the ocean. I like it cos it is different and practical in size, it cost 160
i have a black small radley bag with a thin blue line on, i like it cos it has a shoulder strap too and is quite compact, it cost 75
I have a beige Radley bag with a scalloped top and a cute doggy pattern in the corner and wooden beads on the handle. It is only small but I like it cos it is a god size for shopping in the summer. It cost 70
I like radley bags because they are very very good quality, very unusual in design, practical whilst being fashionable, and I get 20% off because they sell them where I work.

1) I have a bright green leather Luce bag which I bought in TK Maxx a few years ago. Its an American brand not available in the UK. Its square in shape, with pockets at the side and front and with handles long enough to go over your shoulder and stay there but you can also put in in your hands and not touch the floor. Its small enough to find things quickly but large enough to hold all my life on one place. It doesnt flop when put a hard surface and just feels good when you wear it. It also gets lots of compliments.
Its based on a more famous handbag, the name of which I cant remember, but you can find a copy on the Vanilla Paris website. Its called Brandy

2) I I like leather handbags in bright colours and bags that are easy to access your stuff without having to unzip or unflap or rummage. The handles have to be big enough to go over my shoulder
3) I would love a Fendi Spy. I have a copy and people are always commenting on how unusual it is but at 1000+ its way out of my price range. My favourite brand is Hobbs. They sell lovely shoes which I buy at their outlet in Portsmouth. Their jackets and skirts are also great. I also like Kew - a more figure friendly version of Jigsaw

On my next visit to UK I've promised myself a Radley bag and purse (maybe two!). I loved the quality, and especially the inside pockets and lining. Only sorry I didn't get one last time. I don't like ordering on the internet, 'cos a handbag has to 'feel' right. I love red or black leather.
Some stores have their own leather/nylon mix line (lighter!).
I don't like magnetic fasteners and I hate bags with more than one compartment, cos you always lookin the wrong one first! I'd rather cram about in one with everything in it.
Not too big, not too small, and handles you can slip over your shoulder, if you need your hands free, important when out shopping, then you don't have to put it down.

1. My favourite handbag, which unfortunately is worn out now, is a very simple small black nylon Dolce & Gabbana Mare bag that I bought at Selfridges about six years ago. It has no shoulder strap, just narrow black nylon handles. It is very light and deceptively capacious. It is slightly wider at the top than the bottom. It has a zip across the top. It is just so simple and so useful. It is big enough to hold a copy of the London A-Z.
2. The bag must have a zip. I won't buy one with just a popper, or a complicated fastener that takes time to undo. It mustn't be too large or I'll be tempted to carry too much in it and strain my back. It should be large enough to hold sunglasses in a case and glasses in a case at the same time, and preferably sunblock too. I prefer the handheld bags to shoulderbags. Logos are likely to put me off rather than attract me. I never buy on the strength of a logo. I always look at the bag itself and see whether it meets my criteria. But I did find when I had the D&G bag that people used to look at it, which I found pleasing.
3. Ralph Lauren is my favourite brand, because I find his clothes simple and elegant. It's a grown-up brand, an old-fashioned brand that is to do with quality and natural materials. It's not flashy. It's classy.

Handbags - my favourite subject!
1. My fave bag is my Mulberry Roxanne. It is a style that has been copied to death on the high street. I have the Oak colour which is a tan shade.
2. I like my handbags to be of the best quality materials. A handbag in my opinion should last a lifetime, and my Roxanne seems to be doing well. It is 18months old and looks better every day. I guess I am concerned about having a designer handbag, I own 3 Gucci bags, 2 Mulberry and 1 Mui Mui, but they are all very subtle, and dont scream logo!
3. I love Mulberry bags. The designs and materials are so timeless, and as mentioned before, they look better with age.
I work at Ralph Lauren, so I guess I love the clothes. We do some amazing handbags too, but can cost anything up to $10,000!!!
