fatty lumps
3 Answers
Have got two fatty lumps on my scalp, confirmed by doctor. Will they get larger and larger? What causes them? Is it diet? Can I get them removed and what might be the disadvantage?

Not sure what causes them, but he's pretty healthy so I doubt it was anything he was doing. At first the doctor left it cause it wasn't big and wasn't bothering him. After about six years it had gradually got bigger, though, and as my brother has his hair cut very short it became a bit noticeable. He went back to the doctor and went into hospital as an outpatient to get it removed - under local anaesthetic - they just made a small incision and popped it out, apparently. He had a couple of stitches and it's healed up fine with just a small scar. An ex-boyfriend of mine also had this problem (four lumps) but his stayed fairly small and he just left them. I would listen to your doctor and not worry about them, but if they do get bigger or start to bother you ask if you can get them removed. Hope this helps.
I've got a little lump towards the back of my head, I found it a few years ago and freaked out. I instantly rang my best friend, turns out she has one too. Since then I have been to the doctors to double check they said it is absolutley normal, load of people have them, they can remove them if they get too big, but generally they just leave them as they are small and not at all dangerous.
I have no idea what causes them, my best mate is a fitness instructor and is really healthy and I have quite a healthy diet too, so I doubt it is diet related.
