2 D policy

i am a student nurse. i've been asked to describe the 2D policy on medicine administration. i know it means that a drug has been unavailable on the ward for 2 medicine rounds. i'm not sure what would be done about it. any nurses out there with an answer?

she is at jfk probably looking for her passport down a seat :)
not a nurse, but am a regular patient at my local dermatology ward, ( 3-4 times per year, not of what you're asking, but if the drugs trolly was missing vital drugs, wouldnt you order them from pharmacy?
also if this happens patients are asked to take their own, which they have brought in untill they recieve the required drugs from pharacy.
