Birthday present dilema
6 Answers
My daughter really wants a pair of Vans checkerboard slip ons. Her birthday is Friday but all our local shops either dont have them or dont have the correct size. My wife was in one of the high street stores and seen a pair that are very similar and a third of the price, so do we just give her the money or do we buy the similar ones? I know some young (and old) people can be quite elitist in what they wear but thankfully shes not like that.

order them online and if there is not enough time them print out a picture of them and put it in her card, if she really wants them then she wont mind waiting an extra day or two

dont get a substitute pair, its not worth the hassle, she will probably try and be polite, but my daughter has them and the real thing its gotta be, even if SHES not like that.........you can be sure her friends will be, and will not hesitate to point out the fact that theyre not 'proper' vans, kids they can be sooo cruel, better off to wait x
Thanks for the answers. petes_dragon you are right the New look ones are very similar and it was in there that my wife seen them. Today we went a got a pair from there but we will give her the money and she can get the "proper" ones if she wants, her younger sister says she will gladly have the similar ones if they dont suffice her sister.
