Would you or have you ever dated outside of your own race?

Just interested to get peoples opinions on this. I grew in Birmingham and never really considered this an issue as I was always used to being around so many different types of people. I know a lot of people are uncomfortable with the idea of dating someone from a different ethnic background. What are your thoughts?

Me personally, no problems with it. I'm a British white, I did date a kurdish man many years ago but only for a short time, I knew it would not last purely because his family in his homeland expected him to be dating / marry someone of his "own kind". Its only because he was at the time in England, he 'hid' our relationship. But i did knew this at the time and accepted it. I'm now very happily in a relationship with a white English man, but have no regrets of my past.
My brother has married a chinese lady (who I get on with very well with and she is a great sis-in-law). I now have a 3 yr old niece who is half chinese/half english and very beautiful. As long as the families don't get involved then the mixed relationship can work, I know some religions and cultures see mixed relationships as a definate no-no.

its quite an old fashioned thing to be bothered about. in the next 20 or 30 yrs it prob wont be an issue. personally i'm easy (not as in loose!)
if people have mixed race children & in 1000's years there were no all white/black/indian/chinese etc people left in the world i would not really care (& not just cos i will be dead in 1000's yrs either- it just would not matter)
heres a good solution. poke everyones eyes out with a stick & then you wont be able to tell!

My husband is half Armenian, brought up in UK. He's the most loving, caring man a woman could wish for and handsome although his thick black hair is turning grey. My 1st husband was welsh, well off parent's,spoilt and a womaniser who left his children without so much as a backward glance. Colour or creed does'nt matter,it's the person inside that counts.
