Hmmm, good question! If I sit and have a deep thinking session about dying, then it does indeed scare me - but at the end of the day - it is the fear of unknown - no one can ever tell you what dying is like...but at least we will all get a chance to go it, so we all have that in common. But it is the circumstances in which I die which is frightening, drowning, car crash, illness, plane crash.....who knows....we all hope we will die peacefully, but we wont ever know only we can do out best to live life to the full.
I was worried until I was nursing someone very old. He had a fear of dying and all staff told him he would live for years yet (we knew he wouldn't) one evening I was cuddling him o confort him as we knew his time was limited and he suddenly gazed intently at the corner ceiling of the room, then he gave a huge beaming smile, half sat up with arms outstreched as if to welcome/hug someone and then simply died. Since then I don't worry about dying any more.
