If you love someone enough, you will always be honest with them. My ex lied to me toward the end of our relationship, so in my opinion, wonem are more honest!!!!!!!! But as is said, if you are really in love. you will both be honest all the time.

There is nothing wrong with some slight embellishments during the dating period, but one must always be aware that the truth will out in the end. Sometimes this is opportunistic and provides a means to end it. However, there is no place in a friendship or relationship for telling outright lies, as this is demeaning to them and to yourself.

I dont think you can generalise with this answer. Honesty is not dependent on gender. Both have the ability to deceive, should they choose.
It seems that in the early days of a relationship, people may be more inclined bend the truth for whatever reason, but as a relationship deepens the urge to have a bond based on honesty surfaces. This appears to last as long as each person believes themselves to be in love with their partner. However, if the relationship starts to break down, the return to telling lies as and when it is deemed necessary resurfaces.
