The pill, missed pills, bleeding and pregnancy!
Hi, im on the pill and the basic story is, i missed my first 2 pills at the beginning of my new pack, and had sex before i was meant to take them, and when i was meant to be taking them. This was nearly two weeks ago. I was worried i might be pregnant. I got a bladder infection, and had to go GP, he asked if i might be pregnant cuz it would affect my tablets. I started taking atibiotics. Think i had some bad side effects to the tablet, got a migraine and felt sick. The migraine has gone but still feeling sickly. Its my last day on the abtibiotics today. yesterday, i started bleeding, only light, but its got a bit heavier today what does this mean? does it mean i cant be pregnant? or is it just because i missed my pills? I dont understand what has been going on. Any help? Thanks xx

it may just be the withdrawal bleed or your period, you dont say which type of pill you are on (I presume combined as you mention new pack), or it may be an implantation bleed (occurs in some pregnancies).
The migraine may have no relationship with the bleeding at all.

yes i am on the combined pill. cant take a test till your next period is due, which is another 2 weeks. I didnt think i could bleed if i was pregnant?? i cant have another period can i? i only stopped my last period about 2 weeks ago, just before i started my new pack of tablets. i take it this is from missing the tablets? Thanks for your help
you can bleed if pregnant, in some instances women have near normal periods throughout pregnancy, most dont though
The only sure thing here is that if you have sex without precautions then you have a chance of becoming pregnant.
As I said, it could be a number of reasons that you are bleeding. Some tests work a few days before a period is due but they are not that accurate due to the hormone levels being very low at that point.
Perhaps a call to your GP or to a family planning clinic will help

i'm not sure what to say apart from i agree with what redcrx has said that is very good advice. All i will say if worried or not sure about things go speak to your gp or a nurse at your gps surgery they are more then happy help with these sort of things. i know some people don't like bothering there gps or nurses but if you are worried it will put your mind at rest. hope everything is ok? bye for now
Just rang a family planning helpline i found on the net, she said the bleeding is cuz ive missed the pills and the antibiotics and my hormone levels will be lower which makes my body think that its my 7 day break again and start to bleed. but its not a period. and i asked if that meant i cant be pregnant and she said it could have happened anyway, whether i was or not. she said im at risk and the only thing she suggested was to take a pregnancy test in three weeks times, which is pretty obvious really, and you guys said exactly the same thing. So guess its just a case of sitting and waiting. Thanks for all your help! xx
