I'm an Estate Agent...... Everyone........ Boooooooooooooooooo!
I love it though, I think Estate Agents are all stereotyped as being these people who show you round houses and tell you obvious and pointless things like
"This is the kitchen" "This is the bathroom"
And that they are basically con artists.
Rubbish!
I do very few viewings and spend most of my time at my computer making sure that peoples sale and purchases are dealt with with the least amount of hassle. Sorting out queries, speaking to solicitors and financial advisors, going through survey report, negotiating offers (always with the vendors best interest at heart I might add!) And I don't get a redicioulous amount of commission either. I'm quite pround of my job.

I do counter work, serving, washing up, stock control and generally help where needed - including some cooking & making sandwiches etc. The cafe is owned by my brother and I've only been working there for 5 months - there's only me and him working together and thankfully we get on well. I LOVE IT ! what a change from my previous job, I worked as an office manager in a freight forwarder & warehousing. Was there for 24 years and decided to quit last August, due to stress and depression (thats what the job did to me in my final months there). I was so glad to get out of that job... when my brother came to the rescue with a job offer, one he thought I never do. I did and don't regret a single day since. Its less money, less hours and loads less stress !!! but happiness is what counts, it don't pay the bills but I've adjusted my life to it now and can honestly say i don't regret it. If you're really not happy in your job; think of your sanity and get the hell out of there...you'll be surprised how much happier you can be.
I'm the Project Officer for the town where I live and I LOVE my job. It's really interesting, challenging, I meet lovely people, my boss gives me a completely free hand and best of all I can see I'm making a difference. It's so lovely when people come up to me and say 'Thank You' for everything I've made happen!!
As qualified I'm a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist, but that alone never brought in enough to pay the bills so have done accounts, shop work and was a teacher before qualifying as a therapist, though without teachers training (no maths O level so not allowed) there's not as much work available as in the state sector and I had enough after 6 years besides private tuition which I carried on for some time.
I'm now desperately hoping for a paid career in the media, having written articles for nothing and been on TV for nothing, both on my therapy work, hope to end up reaching the professional level eventually.

Anyone here had an 'alien encounter'? Seriously?
A few years ago on a summer evening in the South of England I was closing the kitchen door when I glanced up and saw a huge 'thing' with many windows/port-holes all lit up, hovering over the bungalow. I was so scared I went back indoors. After a few moments I got up enough nerve to have another look and of course it had gone. There wasn't anything on the news about it so I never told anyone before now. Confession time.
I'm not crazy, honestly. There was really some 'thing' there but I'll never know what it was.

After reading back my own reply I got depressed about how boring my job is so went and bought the local paper. I found my dream job working for a charity, dealing with vintage clothes so am applying for it.
Thanks Leighton for asking the Q in the first place.
See - Estate Agents are nice and helpful!
