My sister on the other hand sailed through her pregnancy with no sickness at all , so I guess that it really depends on the individual. Generally speaking , it is supposed to start around the four week mark and stop around twelve weeks but for some unlucky ones - like myself - it doesn't stop until the end of pregnancy. That's not common though. The surge in hormones in early pregnancy (around four weeks when HCG levels are detectable for a pregnancy test) is blamed for the onset of morning sickness but doctors can't really explain why some women get it and others do not.
