Photo 'sets' from the 1950s

Hope that this is the right place to put this....does anyone else remember the sheet of what we would today call contact prints that one had done at a professional photographer's studio? You had to look in different directions, smile sweetly (!) etc while around 30 (?) pics were taken. They were all printed out on one sheet, probably old foolscap size and each photo was about an inch square, black and white of course. Parents used them to send to devoted grandparents etc and some were used for school.
If any of this makes sense to anyone...can you remember the specific name they were given as my brain won't drag it up!

When i tell my daughter (14) she lookds at me like i've gone out? heheheheheh
