the pill..condoms...

Hi ive been taking the pill for almost a year now but recently i skipped the break (couldn't be bothered with a period) and changed the time i take it, so because im not used to the new time i've taken it late a few time and had sex without a condom. does this mean i could be at risk of pregnancy.

also .. my bf has suddenly (after a yr of being together) in the last 3 months decided he doesnt like condoms. he doesnt refuse to wear them really but just tries to aviod it.. he says it feels different etc.. how can i persuade him? i feel more pressuredto take the pill correctly cos all the contraception is up to me. n he gets annoyed if i don;t take it right. but i say it shouldnt be up to me completely. n he then goes off on one about how con doms are completely different to taking a pill

yes any missed pill you should take extra precaution for 7 days after. Read you pill leaflet to be sure.

just because you skipped your weeks break doesnt mean you had to change the time you take it. No wonder youre now forgetting it. You have a few hours grace if you forget with combined pill so why not go back to the original and make it a bit easier to remember.

and yes, sex without protection can result in pregnancy

and also how do you change his mind, tell him that unless he wears one you wont have sex, simple

start talking about kids and nappies, thatll soon get him reaching for the condoms (or going off sex altogether)

i know i dnt have to change the time. but the previous time i used to take it was inconvinient.

and i'd like to resolve the condom issue, not stop having sex.

I think you have a window of about 12 hours on the combined pill and about 1 hour on the mini. I could be wrong though as I haven't taken the pill for years. As long as you still took it, albeit a bit late the risk of pregnancy is minimal.

As for condoms.....I hate them as well so I don't blame your boyfriend there. But if you have skipped a day on the pill his options should be condom, no sex for the 7 days or potentially a new baby
