Kidneys, alcohol and back pain

Can drinking heavily once a week cause kidney problems and how does this manifest itself.....lower back pain?

Do you know what, I have a friend that SWEARS when she's drunk too much the night before gets pain in her lower back - I can't back that up in any medical way (scuse the pun!) but I guess it affects us all in different ways.

I used to be quite a drinker in my past(i`m t-total now and have been for 5 years)i used to experience agonising lower back pain and i had quite a few kidney infections as well,touch wood i haven`t had either since i gave up the booze.

Yep...it sure does. The day after Paddy's day my back was killing me. It kinda of feels like it's hurting from the inside out.

Drink as much water as you can.....it really helps

But does anyone know of any lasting damage... I am scared!!!!
