is fish meat ???

Can anyone settle an argument between my mate and me as to whether fish is meat or not, I say not as if it was it would be sold in a butchers, he says it is, has anyone got any idea. (probably put this in the wrong section, but a fish does have a body ;-) )

When I didn't eat meat (chicken, pork, lamb,beef etc) I did eat fish and other seafood. People insised on saying I was a vegetarian..which perplexed me somewhat.

anyone care to tell me why the below answer was banned? I would like the ed - or anyone to tell me what is offensive about it.
perhaps the ed should actually read comments before banning?
even if the ed doesn't like the bit where i confirm that john was the first to snipe, why ban the whole answer?

true vegetarians will not eat meat, fish or any living creature.

there are variation such as lacto vegetarian etc, which are basically vegetarians that allow themselves one food type consession, or one extra denial of a type of food.

Out of 54 posts, about 10 posts actually refer to the question asked. I am new to this site and every thread I comment on seems to be one argument after another.

The main topic in every thread seems to end up with constant battles about the Army. Why does no one seem to repect the person asking the question enough to take their own petty quibbles to their own threads.

It's ridiculous. It spoils the site for other users.

But all of the posts where there was arguing have been removed, so I'm happy with that.
